The Treasure Valley Family YMCA's Child Development programs support children in their ongoing growth to ensure that they are ready for the next educational milestone, whether that be preschool, kindergarten, middle school, or high school.

The After School Assistant Teacher is responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate experiences, using curriculum and environment to meet the needs of children and families in the program.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and ensure the safety of participants, families, staff and volunteers by following and implementing Child Development program approved Leading Practices.
• Provides leadership through supervising and facilitating children in a variety of age appropriate curriculum based experiences.
• Informs, involves and engages families with participant's activities.
• Keep equipment, and areas safe, clean and organized at all time while creating an environment based on the belief that children learn best through play, positive adult interaction and hands one open-ended experiences.
• Responsible for following established procedures to ensure position relationship with program partners.
  
  Qualifications:
  
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Minimum of 1 year working with children preferred.
  • Must have current Boise City and/or Idaho State Child Care License.
    
    Schedule:
    This is a part time position averaging 10-15 hours weekly. The schedule is 3:30pm-6:00pm Monday through Friday.
