Description The primary function of the CNC Operator, under the
supervision of the Area Coordinator/Supervisor, is to safely and
efficiently operate CNC machines to produce precision parts and
components in accordance with production schedules and quality
standards. The CNC Operator will be knowledgeable of machine setup,
operation, and maintenance, and must ensure that products are
manufactured to specification. CNC Operators should understand how
their work contributes to overall manufacturing operations and
strive to maintain cooperation, quality, and efficiency within the
department and across other functions of the company.
Responsibilities Operate CNC lathes, mills, or other precision
machinery to produce parts to print and specification. Read and
interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
Load and unload raw materials and finished parts from machines;
inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers,
micrometers, and gauges. Monitor machine performance, identify
deviations or potential issues, and make necessary adjustments to
maintain quality and production output. Perform basic CNC program
edits and offset adjustments as required. Verify and record
in-process and final inspection results to ensure conformance to
quality standards. Maintain accurate documentation in ERP or
production tracking systems (e.g., NetSuite). Perform daily machine
maintenance and cleaning; report mechanical or process issues to
maintenance or supervision. Support and enforce all company
policies, procedures, safety rules, and principles of Lean
Manufacturing/5S. Assist Area Coordinator/Supervisor in identifying
opportunities for process improvement, tooling optimization, or
setup efficiency. Follow all requirements set forth in the company
handbook, including attendance, conduct, and safety expectations.
Be available as required by production demands to work additional
time (overtime) throughout the year. May be requested to rotate to
other machines, departments, or shifts on a temporary or permanent
basis. Essential Skills Experience with production and machine
operation. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering
drawings. Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as
calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Capability to perform CNC
program edits and offset adjustments. Strong understanding of ERP
or production tracking systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/5S principles. Ability to identify
opportunities for process improvement and tooling optimization.
Flexibility to rotate to other machines, departments, or shifts.

duties of this job, you will be frequently exposed to airborne
contaminants, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The work
environment is not climate-controlled, and the noise level may
exceed permissible exposure limits, requiring hearing protection.
You will encounter mechanical equipment and moving objects.
Physical requirements include standing and walking for long
periods, frequent bending, stooping, reaching, or lifting up to 40
lbs. unassisted. Repetitive hand and arm movements, as well as
manual dexterity and fine motor skills, are needed. Personal
protective equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toe shoes,
hearing protection, and gloves must be used. Vision requirements
include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral
vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Job Type
& Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boise,
ID. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 -
$24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may
depend on your job classification and length of employment.
