Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list of all
duties/responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned)
- Provide leadership in designing, planning, implementing, and
evaluating systems related to mental health and trauma
- Administer the MSHS Mental Health Plan and services to ensure
that eligible children are screened annually and those diagnosed
with a disability receive required services and/or are referred to
a designated mental health agency
- Ensure social/emotional screening of children when needed
- Coordinate the program with contracted Mental Health
Consultants, and other community and service agencies
- Monitor, review and evaluate the Mental Health program
area
- Solicit feedback from staff and community and use this feedback
to make possible changes and improvements to better serve program
clients
- Develop and administer contracts with consultants and community
agencies to provide services for designated children, their
families, and staff
- Ensure children with mental health concerns & disabilities
participate in a full range of activities through modification and
accommodation in the classroom
- Perform classroom observation of children, provide feedback and
suggestions to staff
- Provide staff leadership, mentoring, and training in Mental
Health program area
- Develop and monitor systems to assess childrens social,
emotional, health, growth and development
- Track and report student outcomes and work with staff to modify
curriculum to meet student needs
- Gain and use knowledge of Conscious Discipline evidence-based
and trauma informed curriculum
- Prepare, maintain, and analyze records, reports, documents,
reports, and databases
- Develop and implement program area annual budget, including
monitoring expenditures
- Represent CC Idaho to the community; include serving on
community boards and committees
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and remain calm and
professional under pressure
- Maintain standards of confidentiality of CC Idaho clients and
records
- Ensure the Mental Health program area meets state, federal and
other applicable regulations and standards
- Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with CC
Idaho policies, procedures, and safety practices -Qualifications
- Required
- A Baccalaureate degree in early childhood education, family and
child support, human relations, counseling, or a related field
- Three years experience in early childhood or K-12 education
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in
writing
- Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state for monitoring and
training
- Current driver's license and proof of auto insurance
- Must pass a background check
- Must obtain clearance of Tuberculosis -
Preferred
- Ability to read, speak, and write in both English/Spanish in a
business settingFirst Aid and CPR certification
- Advanced degree
- Program management experience
- Or equivalent combination of education and experienceRequired
