We are seeking a(an) Activity Therapist for our team to ensure that

QualificationsAs an Activity Therapist in Behavioral Health at our
facility you will be joining a team that has a passion for creating
positive patient interactions and a dedication to caring for the
multi-faceted wellness of those we serve. In this role you will:
- Be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing the
activity therapy needs of the patients on the Behavioral Health
Unit.
- Assure the provision of high quality, safe, and cost-effective
services to patients, clients, physicians, visitors, and other
customer groups.
- Develop and implement the Activities Therapy program for the
unit to help foster self-awareness, increase and/or improve social
skills, and promote the creative process to help reduce anxiety,
increase self-esteem, and manage behaviors.
- Complete an activity therapy assessment for each patient within
72 hours of admission.
- Assess individual patient needs and plan/implement activity
therapy that is appropriate for each patient.
- Document pertinent information relevant to developing and
implementing the patient treatment plan.
- Under the general supervision of the unit director, provide
consultation to other hospital areas as directed by physician
order.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy or related field such
as art and/or music therapy required; Master's degree
preferred.
- Current licensure and/or registration is determined by
specialty and could include: Certified Therapeutic Recreational
Specialist, Art Therapy Credentials Board Certification, or The
Certification Board for Music Therapist.
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic
Life Support or obtain within 7 days of date of hire.
- Requires excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of
community and facility resources, group dynamics, group processing,
and working knowledge of variety of arts, crafts, music, and
leisure activities.
- Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and maintain
confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and be flexible in
program and activity planning.
- Ability to provide independent but collaborative judgment,
following established clinical policies and protocols.This role
