Purpose:Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Ontario, OR is
seeking a Clinical Dietitian to join their team. This is a hybrid
position including some onsite shifts and some remote shifts.At
Saint Alphonsus, Clinical Dietitians plan, coordinate and implement
medical nutrition therapy services for assigned populations with
nutrition screening and the Nutrition Care Process (NCP).Position

- Schedule Information: This position is full-time, scheduled for
36 hours a week and is eligible for hybrid/remote work. The
schedule would include a mixture of onsite and remote shifts.
Onsite shifts would be at the Ontario or Baker City Hospitals.

their very first day with the team.Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Coordinated Program, Dietetic Program,
Dietetic Internship or Pre-professional Practice program all
accredited by the Commission on Accreditation/Approval for
Dietetics Education (CAADE) of the Academy of Nutrition and
Dietetics is required.
- Registered Dietitian or RD eligible with the Commission on
Dietetic Registration (CDR), the credentialing agency for the
Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. If RD-eligible, must pass the
examination and registration for RD designation within 90-days of
hire.
- Must be licensed in state of employee's primary work location
within 90 days of hire.
- 3-5 years of clinical nutrition experience is preferred.
- If working in the outpatient environment, licensure in both
states of Oregon and Idaho are required.
- Basic computer skills including proficiency in an electronic
health record.What You Will Do:
- Develops and implements nutrition care plans based on patients
educational, cultural, and support needs for all assigned age
groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric as
applicable). The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics "Nutrition Care
Process" is used to develop the Nutrition Care Plan. Performs the
Nutrition-Focused Physical Exam when applicable.
- Develops nutrition education materials and programs to support
objectives and goals of the department as needed.
- Collaborates with providers, physicians, nursing, pharmacy and
other members of the healthcare team or other departments to
determine, coordinate and provide medical nutrition therapy.
- Provides and/or coordinates appropriate nutrition care services
as they transition throughout the continuum of care settings (i.e.
services such as order management, pre-authorization of nutrition
services).
- Develops and provides education, training, consulting, and
counseling services throughout the organization for patients,
colleagues, and the community after determining educational,
cultural and support needs. Serves as a resource on diet and
nutrition in relation to various disease states (i.e. cancer) to
staff, providers and the community.
- Develops and updates nutrition related education materials and
programs to support objectives and goals of the department.
- Helps to develop and implement clinical nutrition and
departmental policies and procedures on nutrition-related support,
accreditation, and quality assurance requirements taking into
account nutrition trends.
- Serves on Advisory and Performance Improvement Committees and
participates on other committees, programs and community activities
as directed and/or assigned.
- Serves as a resource on diet, nutrition and medical nutrition
therapy for colleagues, physicians/providers and community.
- Active participant in clinical nutrition productivity; record
keeping, evaluation and analysis.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and follows
the organizations policies and procedures.
- Maintains Continuing Education Units (CEU) and system
competencies in related inpatient/outpatient areas such as
oncology, obesity, nutrition support, bariatrics, etc.
- Good interpersonal skills necessary to interact effecti v ely
with a broad range of people and age groups.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient electronic medical charting skills.Highlights and
