Job Description:
Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led 650
provider multispecialty group seeking a full-time Neonatologist to
join their employed, 3 Neonatologist and 6 Neonatal Nurse
Practitioner team in Boise. In addition to a clinical role,
candidates with leadership experience or interest may be considered
for a 0.2 FTE Medical Director position, if desired. Providers
cover both Boise (Level 3) and Nampa (Level 2) NICUs. The staffing
model/schedule is Neo service coverage: avg 10 days/month block
coverage; team rounds at both units for NICU infants only;
anticipated 8am-4pm onsite(s) then 16hr on-call from home at night
(30- min response time). Our 32-bed, Level III NICU in Boise
provides a high level of care for 250 infants annually, offering
conventional ventilation, iNO, HFOV, and jet ventilation for very
early preterm, late preterm and term infants. The NICU serves
families from Boise and the surrounding areas in Idaho and eastern
Oregon to allow expert neonatal care close to home. The Saint
Alphonsus Family Maternity Center delivers 1,400 infants a year and
is staffed by a highly certified L&D nursing staff, OB
Hospitalist service, and onsite 24-hour anesthesia (CRNA) coverage.
Our safety[1]oriented team of OB/GYNs collaborate with on-campus
Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians, Neonatologists, and genetic
counselors to serve the region's diverse patient population. Our
4-bed, Level II NICU in Nampa (15 miles west of Boise) is
clinically integrated with the Birkeland Maternity Center with an
annual delivery rate of 1400 babies and is the only NICU in Canyon
County. The NICU provides a high level of care for newborns
>34wks and 1500g. With a commitment to practicing up-to-date,
evidence-based medicine, the NICU teams family-centered approach
encourages parents and our expert staff in both the Boise and Nampa
units to work together to achieve outcomes that exceed national

include: Attend high-risk deliveries and facilitate NICU admission
Manage NICU patients and NNP oversight for well newborn nursery
patients Lead multidisciplinary rounds in the NICU by providing
active management strategies that may include nutritional
adjustments, ventilator management, lab and radiology review, and
updating families. Ideal candidate: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or
Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree Successful completion of an
accredited ACGME/AOA Pediatric and Neonatology fellowship program
Certification by the ABP or obtain such certification within 3
years of employment Idaho medical licensure and granting of
privileges at SARMC - Boise and SAMC - Nampa Commitment to
