Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery Location: Nampa, ID Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,617 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Nampa, Idaho, 83687! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Women's Services Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year of experience required License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE Must-Have: - 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience - Mother-baby experience preferred - Must be able to attend deliveries and complete one hour of newborn care - Must be able to triage patients and circulate C-sections - Experience with magnesium required - Charge nurse experience preferred Description: The unit consists of 14 Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum beds. There are two operating room suites available for C-sections. The unit has four triage beds. The average number of births is 90 per month and approximately 1200 per year. Staffing ratios follow established guidelines. During labor, the ratio is generally 1:1 unless managing two cervical ripening patients. Postpartum care is provided to three couplets at a time. Triage is staffed at a 1:3 ratio, but can increase to 1:4 if necessary. A resource nurse will be utilized in high-demand situations. All required certifications include NRP, BLS, ACLS, and STABLE. Patients typically include those who are 32 weeks gestation or greater. Common diagnoses include hypertension, gestational diabetes, and patients requiring medical interventions. No patients with placenta previa or placenta accreta are admitted. The population served is diverse and some patients come in for medical interventions and pain control from home birth midwives. Experience with titrating drips is necessary, including Pitocin and magnesium protocols. There is an administrative supervisor on every shift. Charge nurses do not take assignments but support the unit. One surgical technologist and one certified nursing assistant are scheduled per shift. An obstetric hospitalist is available 24/7. A neonatal nurse practitioner is also available 24/7, along with anesthesia support. Registered nurses will typically monitor relevant patient data. The electronic fetal monitoring system used is Centricity. Self-scheduling is not guaranteed, as shifts are filled based on operational needs. Weekend and holiday shifts are based on department requirements, with no minimum expectations for travel staff. There is no call or standby requirement. Staff may float to other locations as needed based on skill set. Scrubs are provided and must be changed at the beginning and end of each shift. Compliance and training assignments must be completed prior to starting. There is a policy against acrylic and gel nails due to safety regulations. Travel partners are required to have separate transportation as staff may work at different sites.
