The Social Worker counsels and aids patients and their families to understand and accept medical recommendations and options, using established policies, protocols and professional standards. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patients referred for social services interventions, following established policies and procedures. Acts as a patient advocate to ensure appropriate provision of patient care.Monitors and protects patient's rights through completion of education in advanced directives, ethics, DNR,
and other pertinent issues. Integrates factors related to quality, safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness. Integrates patient outcome, clinical indicator and quality data into clinical decision-making.
Education: Master's Degree in Social Work required
Licensure: Current Idaho Licensed Master Social Worker or Idaho Licensed Clinical Social Worker required
Certification: BLS (obtain within 30 days of employment)
Experience: One to two years' experience working in a healthcare environment, preferably acute behavioral health setting
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Must have excellent interpersonal skills for frequent interaction with people of all ages, including patients, families, physicians and outside agencies. Must have knowledge regarding community
and facility resources in Idaho. Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and maintain confidentiality at all times. Needs to have the ability to balance multiple priorities and demonstrate effective problem
resolution skills. Must possess knowledge and skills regarding individual, group, and family therapies.
