Leonard's Express, Inc. and Johnson Equipment Sales and Service are
expanding their operations in Caldwell, ID . We are looking for a
Commercial Tire Technician to help us manage our fleet. The ideal
candidate should have good communication skills and be able to
perform physically demanding tasks. Ultimately, an outstanding tire
technician can work quickly and efficiently, while maintaining the

Full Job Details Follow:
The Commercial Tire Technician is responsible for diagnosing
equipment failures and repairing equipment in accordance to Johnson
Equipment standards. The Commercial Tire Technician must have
minimal training on class 8 equipment. All job duties must be
performed in a way that promotes safe practices in accordance with
Leonard's established safety programs.
Duties
Completes a daily yard check via a service truck to compile a daily
worklist
Inspects and assesses tire tread levels, wear patterns, valve
quality, and overall health
Determines repairable tire conditions and makes appropriate
repairs
Identifies mismatched tires and completes dismounting, mounting,
and repairing as required
Completes the majority of daily work in the yard with the company
service truck
Performs match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial
runout as necessary?
Inflates tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements
Removes tires and send them off-site for retreading or repair as
needed
Preforms preventative trailer maintenance inspections
Troubleshoots mechanic failures
Tests equipment and diagnoses equipment and trailer
malfunctions
Replaces trailer light chord, air lines, mud flaps, hangers, marker
lights & reflective tape
Makes repairs to warn or damaged parts
Follows all safety protocols to include wearing protective gear and
maintain a clean and safe work environment
Provides quality repairs and achieves time per repair standards
Maintains compliance to parts procedures
Complies with DOT regulations including driver's license for class
of truck operated
Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

assigned deadlines, and manage the related stress
Have the desire to learn shop procedures and technical information,

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements
Based on the technical and professional responsibilities of the
position, the Commercial Tire Technician is required to have:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Some class B technical school, experience working on automobiles,
farm equipment or construction equipment
Own basic set of tools
Brake certification, Johnson Equipment can provide
Must have a valid driver's license
Physical and manual dexterity skills

The Commercial Tire Technician is primarily located work
environment with loud noise level. While performing the duties of
this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne
particles. The employee is frequently exposed to work near moving
mechanical parts; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The
employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions
(non-weather); toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather
conditions and cold (weather related). Physical requirements
include:
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally
lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance
Must be on time for all scheduled shifts and work all scheduled
days; proper notice and reason is required if unable to work all
scheduled days
