Simplot Company is a true farm-to-table company with operations that touch every aspect of agriculture, including seed production, farming and ranching, plant sciences, fertilizer manufacturing, food processing, commercial product development, and distribution.SummaryThis job will ensure that the plant is supplied with an uninterrupted supply of potatoes in a manner consistent with safety, quality and production goals. This includes the operation of all raw unloading and dirt and vine removal equipment, as well as driver support and guidance. Key Responsibilities Works carefully to ensure no injury to self or others. Follows safe work practices (including Standard Operating Procedures) policies and exercising common sense. Ensures that equipment in assigned area of operations is monitored and properly maintained. Ensures sanitation and proper cleaning of equipment and work area.
Ensures the quality of the raw product entering the lines is appropriate. Monitors raw product entering the raw receiving area. Closely monitors unloading process. Ensures appropriate lots are unloaded on appropriate receiving line.
Monitors waste such as potato byproduct, dirt, rocks and vine.
Maintains necessary level of communication with team members and other support groups and ensures that interaction is conducted in a participative style conducive with operational goals.
Utilizes computer and computer programs to communicate, document, and track information and ensures that all documents and reports are completed accurately in a timely and efficient manner.
Perform general grounds keeping duties where needed to include: snow removal (shoveling); weed pulling; repairing or installing fencing; trash pick-up; maintaining berms. Climb stairs and ladders as well as on and off forklifts. Ensures compliance with GMP, Safety, Security, and DOT regulations with regard to trucks, drivers, and operations area.Relevant Experience3+ years related experience and/or training
Other InformationPay: $21.73/HrNight shift Experience to include understanding of operations, duties in production, knowledge of Raw Receiving, Transportation requirements, equipment performance setup, adjustments, calibrations, alignments. Lift truck license or the ability to obtain. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact well with all levels of employees within the organization. Working knowledge of input into a computer system. The ability to resolve and/or repair routine or serious problems or understanding of when to report to other operators or management.
