Job Description:
Summary: The Director of Quality is responsible for developing
and leading the company’s overall quality strategy to ensure all
products meet or exceed customer expectations, regulatory
standards, and internal performance objectives. This role provides
strategic direction and hands-on leadership for quality systems,
product inspection, supplier quality, and continuous improvement
initiatives across all JTS manufacturing sites. As a key member of
the leadership team, the Director of Quality Assurance will partner
cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain,
and Service to drive proactive quality management, strengthen
processes, and reinforce a culture of accountability and
excellence. Accountabilities: - Define and execute the Quality
strategy aligned with JTS’s operational and customer objectives. -
Serve as the company’s champion for product quality, compliance,
and continuous improvement initiatives. - Lead, mentor, and develop
a high-performing Quality team focused on prevention,
problem-solving, and performance excellence. - Collaborate with
executive leadership to integrate quality goals into business
strategy and operational planning. - Oversee development, maturing
and maintenance of company-wide Quality Management System (QMS) in
compliance with ISO, UL, ASME, and other applicable standards. -
Ensure documentation, procedures, and standards align with internal
requirements and external regulations. - Lead internal and external
audits and certification processes, including customer and
regulatory audits. - Drive consistency and compliance across
multiple facilities and product lines. - Partner with Manufacturing
and Engineering to implement in-process inspection, final test
procedures, and design-for-quality principles. - Monitor and
analyze product performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and
opportunities for improvement. - Establish and track quality KPIs,
including defect rates, rework costs, supplier quality performance,
and customer satisfaction. - Lead root cause analysis and
corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate systemic issues.
- Develop and oversee supplier qualification, audit, and
improvement programs. - Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure
incoming materials and components meet JTS’s quality standards. -
Work with suppliers on corrective actions and quality improvement
initiatives. - Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and 8D methodologies to
strengthen process capability and reduce waste. - Partner with
Operations to identify opportunities for process optimization and
quality-driven cost reduction. - Foster a culture of ownership,
transparency, and cross-functional collaboration in achieving
quality objectives. - Serve as the key quality contact for
customers, representing JTS in audits, product reviews, and issue
resolution. - Lead customer satisfaction initiatives, driving
improvements in first-pass yield, delivery performance, and product
reliability. - Ensure timely and professional responses to customer

Knowledge/Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality
Management, or related field required; Master’s preferred. - 10
years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance, with at least
5 years in a leadership capacity within a manufacturing
environment. - Proven success implementing and managing Quality
Management Systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent). - Strong knowledge of
Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
(certification preferred). - Experience in supplier quality
management and cross-functional leadership. - Demonstrated ability
to lead complex problem-solving initiatives using structured
approaches (8D, RCA, FMEA, etc.). - Excellent communication,
leadership, and analytical skills. - Ability to balance strategic
vision with hands-on engagement in a fast-paced, growing
organization. - Strong proficiency in quality data analysis,
metrics reporting, and system documentation tools. - High degree of
integrity, professionalism, and accountability. Supervisory
Requirements - Direct oversight of Quality Control Managers at
multiple sites. - Direct oversight of JTS Managers for Quality
Assurance and Supplier Quality - Responsible for hiring,
performance management, training, and team development within the
